Heyday Skincare: Your Complete Skincare Journey in One App

The Heyday Skincare app is the ultimate platform for managing your skincare journey. With the app, members can easily book appointments, explore expert-approved beauty products, read reviews, and access skincare tips—all in one place.

Overview

Heyday sought an integrated, omni-channel solution that would connect the in-store experience with the digital world. The goal was to create an app that catered to both members and estheticians, offering a seamless user experience. Members needed a one-stop platform to manage their skincare journey, from purchasing products and booking in-person services to discovering the latest treatment technologies. At the same time, the app needed to give estheticians a comprehensive view of each member’s skincare history, preferences, and progress to ensure they met their skin goals.

research

A key takeaway from our user research was the desire for journey tracking—members wanted to see measurable progress. Many were already taking "before" and "after" photos themselves, but having them in a cohesive, app-based environment could significantly streamline their skincare process. Seeing esthetician notes and recommendations alongside these images would enhance the efficiency of their treatment plans.

It became clear that purchase history should also be integrated into the experience. We asked questions like, "When was the last time a customer purchased Product A? Was it successful? Is it time for a replenishment?" This data helped estheticians make more informed recommendations and understand the full context of each member's skincare journey.

Additionally, since many members had busy schedules, it was essential to display timely appointment information in a way that was both quick and effortless to access, yet still prompt and timely.

Challenges

Throughout the project, we faced tight deadlines with frequent releases and the challenge of managing working files across multiple teams. The rapid pace of iteration meant we were continually refining designs and pushing new updates while maintaining alignment with The Wing’s evolving needs.

Ultimately, our work resulted in a user-centric iOS app that integrated seamlessly with The Wing’s physical and digital ecosystems, helping to foster a vibrant and connected community. The project’s success was marked by a smoother, more engaging user experience that supported The Wing’s expansion and solidified its role as a leader in women-focused co-working spaces.

Outcome

Since launch, the Heyday iOS app has consistently earned nearly 5-star ratings. The app has driven a noticeable increase in service bookings and has improved overall member engagement. Heyday has also expanded, opening additional store locations across the United States.
